As a special project in conjunction with our production of REAL WOMEN HAVE CURVES, we are inviting women of all experiences to come down to the Selma Arts Center and speak to the power of womanhood. We understand that there is not one definition of womanhood and we are looking for storytellers from all communities, from any age group and in any language! Please help us broaden the conversation by completing this thought REAL WOMEN HAVE ______________. These interviews will be filmed and compiled for a special video art installation that will play during the run of the show.
Think about it. Do you have a story that represents the bond between you and your mother? A lesson you think of fondly taught to you by your grandmother? Do you draw strength from sisterhood in ways that you want to share? What does it mean for you to be a mother? A sister? We want to hear from you!
Sign up for one ten-minute slot to come in and talk about a special woman in your life or the experiences in your life that have made you a “real woman.” Sign up at https://
All interviews will be held at The Selma Arts Center on Saturday, September 1st, from 3-7pm
If you are unable to come in for the interview, we still want to hear from you! Record yourself and send an unlisted YouTube link to selmaartscenter@gmail.com
SUBMISSIONS ARE DUE BY SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 1st, 2018
