Auditions:

Saturday, May 24th 12pm-4pm

Callbacks:  Monday, May 26th 6:3pm- Selma Art Center.

Auditions: Please submit an online Audition Form before signing up for an audition appointment. Performers are welcomed to make an appointment via Sign Up Genius.

Age Restrictions:

Due to the use of language and adult themes, RENT  is rated 18+. Participants must be 18 by the start of the auditions. (May 22nd, 2025)

Audition Requirements, please prepare approximately 16-32 bars of music in the style of contemporary musical theatre or a Pop/Rock song as well as a contemporary monologue for your audition. Please have sheet music or an instrumental track prepared, a bluetooth speaker will be provided. Video Auditions: If you are unable to make the general auditions (we strongly recommend an in person audition), a video recorded song that should not exceed 2 minutes may be submitted before 05/23/2025 by 8:30pm to selmaartscenterauditions@gmail.com. Please send via unlisted YouTube link. However, you MUST attend the mandatory callback (should you be called back) on 09/26/2025 at 6:30pm in order to be considered for a role. If this is not possible, please email selmaartscenterauditions@gmail.com with any questions or concerns. Callbacks: You will be instructed through a short combination, so come dressed for movement. After movement we will proceed into music and scenes. Some auditionees may be released early, however this does not impact your chances of being cast.

Rehearsals: 

Rehearsals for this production run from May 28th, 2025 - July 10th, 205.

Opening night is July 11th, 2025. 

Performances July 11th, 2025 - August 2nd, 2025

CDC Guidelines: There is no current mask mandate, but you are welcome to be masked for your own safety. Masks may be enforced throughout the rehearsal process. Guidelines are subject to change.
